GALVALUME 55™ steel sheet is recommended for high-level corrosion resistance requirements. Applications include pre-engineered metal buildings, industrial commercial and mass housing roofing and cladding, air-conditioning equipment, building panels, furnace parts, heating equipment, appliances, vending machines and wall panels.
GALVALUME 55™ steel sheet provides good corrosion resistance at elevated temperatures. While Galvanized sheet could only be used at temperatures not higher than 260 C, GALVALUME 55™ sheet continues to perform exceptionally well at temperatures as high as 400 C.
GALVALUME 55™ is practical for all if not the most severe forming operations. Without sacrificing coating adhesion, GALVALUME 55™ is suitable for:
Bending
Laboratory tests confirm excellent adherence of the aluminum-zinc
coating to the steel substrate during bending. Bending and brake
pressing are all done successfully as with conventional galvanized
products.
Rollforming
GALVALUME 55™ is readily rollformed. Resin-coated GALVALUME 55™ makes
rollforming easier due to its excellent lubricating qualities. Hence,
it eliminates the need for additional lubricants. The resin coating
on GALVALUME 55™ steel also reduces chance of coating pick-up on
the roll surface during the process.
Lockseaming
GALVALUME 55™ commercial steel is easily lock seamed.
Field Painting
The GALVALUME 55™ coating surface provides excellent adhesive qualities and enables the steel to be easily painted wihtout a primer. Water-based acrylic finish coat is recommended. Once the steel is cleansed and dried, the paint can be applied directly to the steel.
