GALVALUME 55™ is a coated steel sheet with an alloy coating composition of 55% aluminum, 43.5% zinc and 1.5% silicon applied by a continuous hot-dip galvanizing process, providing the best properties of aluminum-coated and galvanized steel sheets. The presence of aluminum in the alloy coating provides improved barrier corrosion resistance and enhances the heat reflectivity of the cold rolled steel substrate. The addition of zinc provides a high level of galvanic protection against corrosion at cut edges, cracks and scratches. The commercial viability and worldwide acceptance of Galvalume coated steel sheet is proven by the rapidly expanding markets and acknowledged by the impressive list of 35 major international steelmakers who are licensed to produce it.
